Baby Andrews Baby Shower.

This last weekend Lisa, Jamie and I had the honor of throwing my sister-in-law Katie a baby shower. Chris and Katie are having a baby boy due in the beginning of January and we could not be more excited for them! It is so fun that so far all of the first grandkids for each of our families are boys!! The boys will be a year and a half or less apart! Family get togethers are going to be so fun!

Saturday was Katie's shower. The theme was a "shower" shower. I wish I could take credit for the cute idea but I actually found it off of a blog on my moms pintrest. Lisa and Wyatt flew in on Thursday morning and the crafting for the party began. It always amazes me how fast a day can fly by when you are prepping for a party. Jamie took care of all of the games and one of the egg dishes, and Lisa and I were in charge of the other food and all of the decor. The shower was a brunch shower so we had three baked egg dishes, a fruit salad with yogurt dip, and maple and vanilla cinnamon rolls. YUM.

The shower was a total blast and Katie was so blessed by all of the guests and got so many amazing gifts! As usual I failed at taking pictures during the shower but I did remember to take some pictures before the guests arrived.

I also struggled at taking pictures of the boys this weekend! I was so busy time just flew past. I did manage to snap a few of the boys playing together. Its a good thing we are seeing the Zaballos family again this weekend so I can make up for missed twin photos of the boys!!

Thatchers First Halloween Night!

For our first Halloween as a family of 3 we all got dressed up! I typically am not one for costumes, but last years Halloween episode of parenthood inspired me to want to be a family who dresses up. I decided this at about 5:30 Halloween night so Jimmy and I had to do the best we could with our closets! It was actually really fun. We started out with the idea of being hippies, which turned into me looking like Pocahontas. We then decided we would try cowboy and indian theme. Fail for me again, but Jimmy's cowboy costume was perfect! I then tried to be an 80's workout instructor. Also fail. I then decided to attempt to be Kat Von D. I put black sequence spandex on as well as cut up Jimmys shirt from her tattoo shop 'high voltage'. I also drew tattoos on my face and chest and wore heavy makeup. To finish my costume off I wore my fake sleeve tattoo my mom bought me. Finally a success!

After Jimmy and I were dressed we got Thatcher dressed in his little monster costume and got our candy out and sat on our porch until dark passing out candy. It was so much fun! We got to see the people in our neighborhood and everyone seemed to love Thatchers costume. I mean, whats not to love about that cute monster. I have also made friends with the little kids two doors down and when they came to our door it was dark so we were inside and they asked to see Thatchers costume. It was pretty sweet.

Cousin Wy was also a little monster (like I have said, Lisa and I like to dress the boys the same). Wy looked so cute that he's bringing his costume down this weekend for a picture of them as twins! Keep on the look out for that!!

All in all it was a really fun first Halloween as our family of three dressed up!

Thatchers first solid food!!

Yesterday was a very exciting day! Thatcher ate solid food for the first time!! Im not going to lie, I wanted to wait it out a little longer (starting solids is a whole new world) but yesterday Thatcher was officially over 6 months old, has one tooth in and another on the way and poor guy woke up early yesterday from either hunger or his tooth are my guesses. So, I decided yesterday was the day. Solid foods here we come!

Jimmy came home for his lunch so he wouldn't miss it. I feed Thatcher half of a feeding then got a bib on him (made by my sister. Its so cute right?!), put him in his highchair and began soon feeding him. It was amazing, he knew exactly what to do. I did not have to tell him to open his mouth. Every time the spoon got near his mouth he opened up and swallowed and then was ready for the next bite. It was so cute, he was so happy and such a big boy now. Part of me was totally sad, but it was definitely confirmed to me he was ready for solids with how well he did.

We started him on rice cereal mixed with breast milk and he will eat that for a few days. Our next food of choice will be sweet potatoes followed by avocado then banana. I have a baby food cooker I am really excited to try out on the sweet potatoes! Im thinking he did so well with the rice cereal he will love the sweet potatoes!! I look at Thatcher and can't believe it sometimes. My baby is not a tiny baby anymore. The last 6 months of my life have gone by faster than any before!

Our Weekend.

We had a really fun laid back weekend. We did a lot of hanging out with our little family of three.

Play Date With The Ladies.

On Thursday, Thatcher and I got some much needed hang out time with my good friend Mallory and her sweet baby girl Penelope. It had been way too long since we had seen each other so it was so good to go over and spend the day at her house gabbing our hearts out and letting the little babes play. Well, I mean they kind of played. Thatcher is almost 6 months old and Penelope turned 7 weeks on Thursday. She is so tiny yet has grown so much since I had last seen her! She is the sweetest little girl, with the most beautiful big eyes! Thatcher played on the ground and Penelope played in her bouncy seat. There was one moment where I sat Thatcher down next to Penelope in her bouncy seat and he put his hands on the side of the seat and started bouncing it for her. It pretty much melted my heart it was so sweet and Penelope just sat there looking out the window enjoying herself!! I'm secretly hoping they fall in love.

Mallory and I always have so much that we can talk about which I absolutely love. I am very fortunate to have a friend like her in my life. We are learning to be moms together... learning from each others experiences. How amazing is the Lord when he places people in your life?

Later in the afternoon a friend, who I met through Mallory, named Lindsay, came over with her sweet baby girl so all the babes could meet. Quin, who is Lindsay's second daughter, is just 9 days younger than Thatcher, so it was so fun to see them interact (or try to at least). I have not seen Thatcher around a baby as close in age as Quin is to him so it was fun to see the similar things that they are doing! Mallory's house was full of baby squeaks and mom-ish discussions, which was so refreshingly fun for me!! I am always so blessed to be able to hang out with such special friends, and so thankful to learn from them. I can't wait to see the babes interact for real and become the best of friends, or first crushes!!

Thatchers First Harvest Party.

Tonight was a very fun and special night. Thatcher attended his first Harvest Party!! Every year our church Emmanuel Faith puts on a Harvest Party for our community in Escondido. I have never been but was very excited to take Thatcher. I am excited for this to become one of the Robeson family traditions!!

For Thatchers first dress up party he was a little monster. I must say he was the cutest little monster I have ever seen! The first time Jimmy and I put him in his costume he was about 4 months old and was so tiny in it I was so surprised to see how much he has grown! The costume fit him perfectly and he actually loved being in it! No tears for our little monster.

We invited my parents to join us for the harvest party and they were excited to come! I made pizzas and salad for dinner (side note: I made the pioneer woman roasted vegetable pizza and jimmy, my mom and dad all said it was the best pizza they had ever had!! I can't take the credit I just followed the recipe, but if you like veggies and pizza check it out!). After dinner we got Thatchy ready and headed off to the party. I was so amazed at how many cute costumed kids were running around the church campus. I and definitely looking forward to next year when Thatcher realizes what is going on! We saw friends and walked around until it was time for Thatcher to eat. When we were leaving we decided to go get pie for dessert. YUM. Pie and Thatcher dressed in his halloween costume, what could make for a better night? All in all it was a very successful night and I am looking forward to putting Thatcher in his costume again on Monday!
