A Week With The Robesons'

Last week was a pretty low key week ( I think... I find myself being very forgetful these days). As I shared in the post just below, we decided to dedicate last week to dropping Thatcher's "dream feed". I am extra happy to report that the feed is officially dropped. Our little guy, who turned 4 months yesterday (can you believe it?!), sleeps from about 7:50 p.m to 7:30 a.m. I am so proud of him! He is just a champ of a little man.

Also last week I decided to branch out and try new meals for dinners. I have a new obsession with the "pioneer woman's blog". I love every recipe I have made of hers. Im not going to lie, they are pretty creamy and hearty, but who doesn't love a cheesy meal? We had stuffed shells and sour cream enchiladas from her blog. YUM. Both of those dishes will become regulars on our family menu. We also started taking family walks after dinner. It is so nice and Thatcher loves being outside. I can't wait to take family walks in the fall!

Thatcher and I were lucky enough to have two very special lunch dates last week. First we had lunch with Megan, who is part of the Duddy clan. It is always so fun to see Megs and catch up with her. We also got to see Shea and meet baby B, who is so adorable by the way! Our second lunch date was with Auntie Jenna. We met for lunch and spent so much time chatting about anything and everything. That is one of the reasons why I love Jenna...endless conversation.

Tuesday night Jimmy's sister, Sharrah, came over for dinner and to visit with Thatcher. We had yummy stuffed zucchini for dinner and Sharrah made some yummy cookies with 3 different cereals in them. YUM. Im not sure if you've noticed but most of my fun events tend to revolve around food. What can I say, I just love food!

Wednesday my dear friend Mallory came by to visit with Thatcher and I for a little bit. It was a short visit but any visit with Mal is worth it. We made plans for Sunday morning; we decided that we were going to get donuts and share a breakfast burrito. YUM again.

This weekend my grandma was in town and so we spent some special family time together. My mom, grandma and sister in law Katie went to see "The Help" this weekend. It was so good that I would definitely see it again. It was a fun treat because now-a-days getting to the movies is not as easy as it once was! I am so thankful for my family.

Im pretty sure thats all for last week!

Big News.

Thatcher is such an amazing little guy. He has been such a good sleeper since he was born, and even more so since he was 7 weeks old when he decided on his own to sleep through the night. Last week Jimmy and I decided that we would dedicate this week to dropping Thatchers "dream feed" (his 9:30 feed). We did a lot of talking about "what if he isn't ready" and "what if he wakes up at 5 a.m. thinking its time to get up". I am extremely happy to report that our little Thatcher Ace slept from 7:45 p.m to 7:30 a.m! Jimmy and I woke up at 7:15 and were so shocked that our little man was still asleep. We went in and woke him up at 7:30 for his morning feed! What a champ. We are hoping it was not just a one night thing and that he will be able to keep his 12 hour a night sleep. We know it can take a week or so to establish a new routine, but we are just so proud of him already. I just can not believe he will be 4 months next week. Speaking of 4 months, Thatcher has been one drolly little guy. He has been drooling and sucking on his hands, arm, and toys for a week or so now. Perhaps he is teething? Maybe, maybe not but either way, so crazy!!

In other big news Thatcher, Jimmy and I went for a family walk after we had dinner last night. Thatch rode in the Ergo and loved it. He can officially ride with out the infant insert. We also tried him in his bumbo and he love it (i think, he kinda looked unsure but he didn't cry). He is just growing up daily right in front of my eyes. It is so fun, so sweet and so exciting!

Family Fun-Days.

Thatcher and I are very lucky that Jimmy has Fridays off. We like to call them Friday Family Fun Day. This weekend was especially fun for us. Not so much that we did anything crazy but rather that we got to spend lots of fun time together. Friday we woke up and noticed we had a flat tire. (bummer) Big bummer because on Thursday we got and oil change on both cars and my car needed some coolant. We took the car to get new tires and then I went to the eye dr. I picked us up some bagels on the way home. (We noticed our flat tire on the way to bagels so our breakfast was a little late) After Thatchers morning nap we went and did some wandering around the mall. We found the most amazing beanies for Thatcher! After Thatchers afternoon nap we walked down the street to Old Navy. I just fell re-in love with Old Navy! Friday night my mom invited us over for some yummy mexican food for dinner.

Saturday we woke up and walked to bagels. Yummy! We found a local bagel place just down the street from our house that has very yummy bagels and I'm pretty excited about it. While Thatcher was sleeping Jimmy helped me cut my fabric so I could make burp cloths. Thatcher seems to go through so many so quickly so I wanted to sew some more! I got the idea from my wonderful sister who made me some before Thatch was born. In the afternoon we ran some errands to Target, then came home for some rest. Thatcher ended up not taking his mid-afternoon nap (yikes) but he's such a good little guy it didn't effect the rest of his day too much. Saturday or good friends Lizzy and Rich came over and we went to dinner at Pat & Oscars. Afterwards we just hung out chatting. There is something so comforting about sitting around talking to good friends. Lizzy and Rich live in LA so we don't get to see them as much as we'd like so we always soak it up when we get to see them.

Sunday after church Jimmy and I had a wedding to attend. Thatcher got to spend the day with his Grammie and Grandpa! He had the best time. He woke up this morning super chatty telling me all about the fun he had. (Thanks mom and dad!) The wedding we went to was beautiful. It was at the Pala Mesa Resort and the reception was at the Pala Casino. It was super vibey and fun. Id never been to a wedding like it!

I just love the weekends. They are always filled with family, fun, friends and food. Who could ask for more?

My Guys.

My guys. I love them. They look just like each other. I love it.

Auntie Jenna.

Jenna is back in America!! YAY!

My very good friend Jenna has been traveling the world for the last 2.5 years. I have missed her dearly but we managed to stay in contact with each other. She is one of those friends who you can go months without talking but when you see them can pick up right where you left off like no time has passed. I am so happy to have her in my life.

While she was gone, I fell in love, got married and had a baby (Jenna and I actually skyped while I was in labor with Thatcher. iPhones sure are amazing!). She lived in Australia and Brazil and fell in love with Paulo. Our lives have changed so much since the days where we would have sleep overs and worked at Nordstrom part time while attending Cal State San Marcos, but our friendship has stayed close. I love that.

Monday Thatcher got to meet his Auntie Jenna. I told him lots about her, and he loved wearing the onesie she got him from Australia! Thatcher was all smiles while hanging out with her. We are so excited that Jenna will be a part of Thatchers life.

Homes- Welcome home. I love you and am so glad you are back!

Projects.

I have the best husband. I love him so much. While Thatch and I were out of town Jimmy did some projects I've been dying to do around the house. He painted chevron stripes on our kitchen wall and made our coffee table a chalk board! They really make the house complete! ( Well until the next project!)

Wyatt turns 1.

On Monday August 15th, our nephew Wyatt Scott Zaballos turned 1 year old! (Happy birthday Wy- we love you more than you know!) This past weekend Thatcher and I got to go up North to celebrate with Wyatt and the whole Zaballos family. It was so much fun and my sis did a great job planning the party!

Thursday morning my mom, Thatcher and I were dropped off at the airport for a super fun trip. We got up north around mid morning and sis and Wy picked us up. We went to the mall to kill some time before Lisa's doctors appointment. Did I mention my sis and Scott are expecting babe #2! Yay. I am going to love that munchkin so so much! We went to Lisa's doctors appointment where she and Scott found out what babe #2 is (I'll let Lisa share the exciting news on her blog of what sex the babe is.) We then went to a celebration lunch at chipolte and ate yummy sprinkles cupcakes! Thursday night we did hair and watched some FNL. Pretty much an amazing night in my opinion.

Friday we woke up and decided that we would go back to the mall to look for fun things for babe #2. We like to shop, ok? Friday my dad flew in and we picked him up from the BART station. Jimmy was not able to come up this weekend because we were just out of town the weekend before but he was there in heart.

Saturday was the big party day. We had so much fun celebrating little Wy, who I must say is absolutely a joy to be around. He smiles at you and makes you feel like you are the most special person in the world. It melts my heart. I also being the crazy auntie I am taught Wy how to do the toostie roll dance. He loved it. The party was a sandwich bar party which was such a cute idea. Super yummy and easy. Great job sis. The kiddie pool was out and the kids were having so much fun playing in it. All of Wyatt's cousins were at the party. 6 kids. It was so much fun! Saturday we went back to the mall (again, yes, I said we like to shop). After the mall we went out to sushi for dinner then went home put the little guys to bed and watched the soloist.

Sunday we went to livermore where there is a fabric store I love! I got some fabric and my sis is going to make me another hooter hider. I am going to make myself some more burp cloths. Thatcher seems to go through 12 burp cloths in two days. Crazy little guy. We went to lunch at a yummy brewery and then went home to rest. Sundays are the best for resting. Before we knew it, it was time to head off to the airport. Im always sad to say goodbye to sis, Scott and Wy. We love spending time with them.

Jimmy picked us up from the airport and Thatcher was so excited to see his dad!

Scott, Lisa and Wy- Thank you so much for having us up. We love you guys and can't wait to see you soon!!

4 Generations.

Last night Jimmy, Thatcher, and I went up to visit Jimmy's grandpa and grandma Robeson with Jimmy's dad Jim. Jimmy's grandpa's sister Joanna was in town visiting from New York and we were excited to meet her. The four of us drove up to Laguna for dinner and a really fun hang out time. It was so special to see 4 generations of Robeson Men together. Thatcher is such a lucky little guy to have so many great-grandparents around who love him so much and love to spend time loving on him!

P.S. The shirt Thatcher is wearing is 12 months. 12 months...can you believe that?! He's only three and a half months. He's just a growing little guy!
